Collins St Apartment
With their slogan Made for Life, Melbourne prestige construction firm, Hickory, tasked us with producing and installing a staircase to one of its prestigious penthouses in Collins Place.
Soaring high above the Melbourne CBD, the penthouse design challenged us with a relatively restricted space. It demanded meticulous attention to design and engineering detail, and off-site manufacturing.
Constructed in modules in our factory, we installed the steel framed staircase over a week, welding it accurately into place to allow dress it with a timber cladding. We then followed behind to finish the structure with a timber capping over the solid handrail.
The finished effect emulates a grand, solid timber spiral entry to the penthouse above. Although we cannot name the client for privacy reasons, they were thrilled with the result.
